What if you compile your programs with COMMIT(*NONE)?  I guess I don't see
the relationship between commitment control and reading a file.

Before I used to have hundreds of ODPs for one web job running.  I compiled
with COMMIT(*NONE), closed cursors, etc.  The only way I could get it to
close them was *ENDMOD on the Close Cursor option.

I may try this, though.  May make a nice little ILE functin.  ;)
