Two suggestions.

1) Check out the VARPG news list - lots of folks there who are very
experienced in this and can help you better than I can (I've only played
with it) you'll find it hosted by news.software.ibm.com.

2) You could ask Claus Weiss at IBM (weiss@ca.ibm.com) if he could send you
an electronic copy of his VARPG Lab script for ODBC - it takes you through
all the steps needed.  You'll find after you do it once that you need to
write your own subprocedure to handle it - it is a horribly boring and
repetitive process that a subprocedure can handle with ease).
