Seth, thanks for the example.  I wasn't able to get it
to work, though.  It compiled but the sort didn't
change.

Ultimately what I did to get it to sort was I added
ALTSEQ(QSYS/QLA10025S) to a logical file.  I used
query/400 until I found a table that sorted the way I
need.

I also tried compiling the program with this table
defined, I tried submitting the job with this table
defined - nothing worked for me EXCEPT specifying the
table in the logical dds.

I must be missing something but I haven't found it
yet.
