There are a couple of other possible causes - size of literal pool is
another that comes to mind - but yes this is the most common cause.

I have absolutely no idea (and frankly don't give a hoot) I gave up
worrying about that stuff when I gave up writing compilers <grin>.  You are
probably correct.  I do know that the limits for ILE programs are
waaaaaayyyyyyyy high.
