Whoa, neato!  Does the device have to be powered on?  Signed on or off?  Do
you still use all the EXFMT, WRITE, READx opcodes?  I'll have to remember this
opportunity number 3 comes along.

Oh, and BTW JoHn, it's *Dan*, not Dale <sigh> <g>  You're in very good
company, though.  At least it's one of the better names I've been called in my
lifetime! <g>

I believe you can open a display file in batch as long as you've done an
override to a unused device id prior to the open,... thus the subfile can be
used as an array or work file.
