Recently I had to create a subfile view over many different join logicals
(same situation you described). I also needed to be able to key off of
fields from the secondary file within the Join Logical. The way I was
able to accomplish this was through an OPNQRYF. I had to do reads and
position to based on these keys so I couldn't use JDUPSEQ either.
Therefore, I'm hoping someone here is able to come up with a better idea.
The build time was only a few seconds so I didn't get any complaints from
the user community. Besides it was a replacement to their manual paper
lookup.
I hoping to hear of a better way as well.

Just wondering if the lack of response to my earlier post is due to no one
knowing an answer or is the subject being too boring.

Just in case someone is thinking about it. I'm trying to avoid using a work
file or an opnqryf because of the build time when entering the display.

I'm looking more for a way to make the join logical work or use some form
of a SQL statement.

Thanks,

Patrick Conner
