× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

FWIW, in RPG IV this can be changed to eliminate the work variable and
indicator like so:

 C         if        (%subst(devCap : 2 : 1) and x'30') = x'30'

Better still would be to define a symbolic constant:

 C         if        (%subst(devCap : 2 : 1) and DS4) = DS4

Ideally, it should be possible to just use

 C         if        %subst(devCap : 2 : 1) and DS4

but I don't think this behaviour is guaranteed to work.
