<SNIP>
The option to modify permission's to a subdirectory is by default not
turned on.
<ENDSNIP>

What I mean is that if I modify the security to '/rob2' It does not have an
option to modify the security to all the subdirectories and whatnot
underneath it, automatically, unlike NT. Unless, of course, you want to
use authorization lists.

Did I explain this better? I was using the term subdirectory as in
subordinate to the one you're currently working on. Pull up the
permission's in NT Explorer and visualize that.

Also, I would still use the commands in some situations. For example if
you have 20 files under a directory and you want to change the authority on
all of them. I tried to do this with op's nav. I highlighted the 20. I
right clicked and selected permission's. 20 windows then opened up. I
would have to fill in all 20 windows. Or I could have used:
CHGAUT OBJ('/rob2/*') USER(FRED) DTAAUT(*RWX) OBJAUT(*ALL)

I don't understand what you mean by this. I go into OpsNav and on a
particular directory, I right click my mouse and get a window with
"Permissions". I click on that and I can set the permissions for that
directory.

It is alot easier and (should I say it) alot more intuitive. I wouldn't
use the commands (GRTAUT) anymore after using OpsNav. I'm at V4R4.
