If you examine the AS/400 MI instructions that support array indexing, you
will find that array indexes must be defined as BIN(2) or BIN(4).  There are
also array size and number-of-elements limits that apply and are checked by
the machine while it is executing these instructions.  I don't know if the
machine will object to unsigned but there is no reason (that I can think of)
to use unsigned ints for array indexes.
