If the Dummy format is the problem ignore this. 

If the problem is that the underlying windows don't restore when you come 
back from the 2nd RPG program then you may wish to compile the DDS for the 
first RPG program with F4, F10(additional parameters), "Restore *YES" and 
see if that helps the problem.

Hi Mark,

This is actually a Midrange-L question, not an RPG question. In the 2nd
service program's display file, add a format like this:

    A            R DUMMY                ASSUME
    A                                1 2 ' '

That's all. You don't have to use it, it just has to be there. It tells 
the
system to not clear the screen when opening the display file.
