  • Subject: QSPRWTRI not in QC2LE ???

Jim, don't know if this applies, or whether it will help you, but on my V3R2
box, QSPRWTRI is a *PGM object in QSYS. Perhaps you need to look at the "is
not of the same data or procedure type as the reference" part of the error.

Just a thought.

I'm trying to write an interface to the QSPRWTRI API (Retrieve Write
 Information).

This is my prototype:

D RtvWtrInf PR ExtProc(QSPRWTRI)
D RWI_RcvVar 289A
D RWI_RcvLength 9B 0
D RWI_FmtName 8A
D RWI_PrtName 10A
D RWI_ErrCode 16A

I compile this with a DFTACTGRP(*NO) and BNDDIR(QC2LE)

It compiles without errors, but I get a message at the end of the listing:
Errors were found during the binding step. See the job log for more
 information.

Checking the joblog:
From module . . . . . . . . : QBNBSYMR
From procedure . . . . . . : QBNBSYMR__UnresolvedReferenceIterator
Statement . . . . . . . . . : 31
To module . . . . . . . . . : QBNBSYMR
To procedure . . . . . . . : QBNBSYMR__SignalUnresolvedReferences
Statement . . . . . . . . . : 8
Message . . . . : Definition not found for symbol 'QSPRWTRI'.
Cause . . . . . : No definition was found for reference QSPRWTRI in *MODULE
object SDGWRKSPL in library QTEMP. The definition either does not exist or
is not of the same data or procedure type as the reference. Recovery . . .
: Try the Create Program (CRTPGM) command again, supplying an object that
contains a definition for symbol QSPRWTRI.

Any clues?

Regards,

Jim Langston
