  • Subject: Automated Batch Data Transfers from AS/400 to PC (using TTO)
  • From: Martin.Cubitt@xxxxxxxxxxxx

We have several TTO definition files on a remote Windows 95 PC. The idea
is to copy master files from our AS/400 system to a remote PC as part of
our Business Recovery plan. I have written a DOS batch file as follows:

RTOPCB vendor.tto
RTOPCB prices.tto
RTOPCB product.tto
RTOPCB customer.tto

We want to automate this batch file to run at a particular time each night.
We IPL our AS/400 each night, so any PC's connected aren't for long! So it
is necessary to connect to the AS/400 before executing the batch file.

How can we ensure the PC is always connected to the AS/400 when it needs to
be? Do other people have similar experiences, methods, hints and tips
please?

Thanks,
Martin
