  • Subject: Passing Parms to Query

Ok, I'm missing something. How (one more time) do you pass parms to
a query.
I read and tried the below from the archives. What does the query specs
have to look like?

I have this;
------------------------
                                Select Records
Type comparisons, press Enter. Specify OR to start each new group.
  Tests: EQ, NE, LE, GE, LT, GT, RANGE, LIST, LIKE, IS, ISNOT...
AND/OR Field Test Value (Field, Number, 'Characters', or
...)
        RMMPRDN           EQ     :PRDN

-----------------------
and this;
-----------------------
                      Specify Dependent Value Qualifiers
 Type choices, press Enter.
   Qualifier type . . . .   2              1=Query, 2=File
   Query or file . . . . CCPFRMM Name, F4 for list of files
     Library  . . . . . .     TILIPD       Name, *LIBL, F4 for list
   For choice 2=File:
     File member  . . . .   *FIRST         Name, *FIRST, F4 for list
----------

Whats wrong??

Passing Parameters to a Query/400 Query
The basic idea of the solution is in the select statement to write in the
Select part:
DATE GE :FROMDAT
// Yes the : has to be there
Save the query as normal i.e. a QRYDFN object.
Run the Query with STRQMQRY and ALWQRYDFN(*YES) and set the variables in
SETVAR
I.e. in the above case:
StrQmQry QmQRy(yourlib/yourqry) AlwQryDfn(*YES)
QmForm(*QMQRY) SetVar((FROMDAT 19991122))
