I haven't run into that case, but I always use EVAL to assign between dates
fields. I only use MOVE for date conversion. Does the same thing happen to
you with an EVAL?

Sure sounds like a defect.

Has anyone had trouble with Move and time fields?

I just tried moving a *USA time field to a *HMS time field and getting an
error. The problem occurs for times that are after 11:59 PM and before
1:00 AM. Adding 30 minutes to 11:45 PM and then moving the resulting
value of 12:15 AM to a *HMS field yields an answer of 24:15:00.
