Mike,

You can't FTP right into an Access (.mdb) file. The FTP client/server has no
concept of the internal structure of an ".mdb" file. It transfers stream
files without regard to internal format. What you've actually been doing, is
overwriting the database file completely.

If you must use FTP, begin by creating a text file using CPYTOSTRMF. This
should preferably be a deliminated file (ie: CSV), but fixed length recs
will do as well. FTP this file over to your PC, but give it it's own name
(ie: myfile.txt). If you open this file in Notepad, you should see a text
representation of the data that you'd like to get into your mdb file.

Finally, you start up Access and select the "Get external data" option from
the file menu. Once there, the program will walk you through the process of
importing the data contained within your text file.

Btw, this would be much easier if you used ODBC right within Access itself.
Or, you could use the Client Access file transfer utility, if you have it.
