Mike,

Access stores all its data in one .mdb file, in a way that is presumably
only known by Microsoft.  FTP-ing straight into this file is asking for
trouble.  What you have to do is either export from the AS/400 in a format
that Access can import, or use ODBC, so Access can get at the AS/400 data
itself.
