Hi Richard,

I suspect that the product that I thought that you were referring to and the
product I was thinking of are 2 different products, though sharing many
characteristics. The product that I work on has been around on S/38 since
late 1986 with the architecture that you described. It has carried that
architecture in its original form through to the AS/400 in RPG and to OS/2
(briefly), Windows 32 and some flavours of UNIX in C with ODBC calls. It was
and is developed in Sydney, Australia. I have only been on the AS/400
development team since 1991, so cannot claim credit for the architecture.
