A socerer is like a "wizard" or a "magician". Its someone who casts
magic spells (called sorcery) or otherwise uses arcane powers.

I personally consider things like wizards or sorcerers to be something out
of fantasy stories. (Personally, I enjoy that sort of story, but consider
it nothing more than a fantasy, an act of the imagination.)

The reason that it may "cause a riot" is because some people consider
things like magic, witchcraft, etc to be evil or satanic. (at least,
thats what I think the problem is?)
