I'm not sure I understand the question.  The spool files we print this way
are straightforward documents like bills of lading which have alphanumeric
text and barcodes on them.  DDS supports a number of different barcode
types, including Code 128.  Code 128 is pretty standard and is capable of
representing alphanumeric values, if that's what you're asking.
