You neglected to say that you ran other ftp commands
before you did the cd /. Because when you do so you
are stuck in the qsys.lib system, UNLESS, you execute
the following command:
quote site namefmt 1
Or you quit ftp and start over.
Then you can get into your mynewfolder. By the way,
directories under the root directory are not called
folders. Folders, and their associated overhead, only
exist under QDLS.

Subject: FTP to ifs.

I'm trying something new and I'm having a little problem...

I mapped a drive to our as/400, and I can see all the folders...

So then I created a new folder, call "mynewfolder", below is a partial
directory listing.

usr
etc
qsys.lib
qibm
mynewfolder

so here comes the problem...

If I open a ftp session, it defaults me into "QGPL"

how do I change directory into "myfewfolder"?

I tried
cd /mynewfolder
cd /

I guess I'm a little stumped and I need your help...

tia, tim
