We recently purchased two printers that can emulate an IBM 4214.  We wish to use the "Drawer" parameter to direct spool files to different drawers for special forms.  Our current options are: (1.) change the attribute on the print file;  (2.) modify several CL programs to do print file overrides; (3.) use a program (CL or RPG?) and a data que to monitor the out ques and change the spool files on the fly.  Option 1 is not going to work for all files, some are program defined output using QSYSPRT or QPRINT and a form override.  Option 2 is not desirable as it means making changes to two vendor supported packages (maintenance issue);  but it is the most direct and possibly the easiest to implement.  Option 3 has the potential of being the most flexible, and is the most technically desirable option.  My questions are: What are the potential problems with option 3?  Is there a better solution?
