I managed to receive such errors when my logic goes berserk and overwrites
something in storage that it better shouldn't have overwritten. But this
only happens when i use pointers to shift structures around. Then at least
file pointers seem to be overwriteable.

Is your program using pointers?

SOS !!!!!

This is a repost, specifically to Barbara Morris, Jon Paris, Gary Guthrie,
Mike Cravitz, all other heavies !!
Please help.

Dear list,
I've having a problem, and I need suggestions. Here are the facts:
1. CL program A (called CLA) creates a single work file (called WFx).
     A. WFx will be 1 of 6 different formats (called WF1, WF2, etc) based
on logic in CLA.
2. RPGLE program A (called RPGA) uses FileA as it's main file.
     A. FileA is, in reality, externally defined, containing 20 fields with
a length of 3155. FileA is,
however, internally defined in RPGA, with a length specified as
3155.
3. CLA overrides FileA to WFx LvlChk(*No) and calls RPGA. 4 of the
possible 6 WFx's process
normally, but with 2 WFx's, RPGA gives me the following messages:
     - Space offset X'00000F80' is outside current limit for object WF4
       QTEMP WF4.
     - Function check. MCH0601 unmonitored by RPGA at statement 0000000668,
       instruction X'0000'.
     - Pointer or parameter error (C G D F).
The 'Pointer or parameter error' happens at the 'Read FileA' statement
of RPGA.
4. I've checked the obvious things (at least obvious to me). I've made
sure none of the WFx's
records formats are larger than FileA, overrides are in effect when the
program was called, etc.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Mike Schlemme
