  >> And with more and more educational institutions dropping RPG as a
curriculum,

I don't know where you get your information from but the last time I talked to
the folks from PIE (partners in education) the number of colleges offering
AS/400 education was still growing. In case you are wondering, yes they do teach
RPG - thankfully many are focusing on RPGIV now.

As to AS/400 and RPG being attractive to new programmers. I have two young guys
in our office who graduated from school two years ago and had never heard of the
AS/400. They both now love the box and have embraced RPG and COBOL and learnt
to recognize the strengths of those languages particularly when blended with
modern technologies such as Java. This has made life much easier for "old
fogies" such as myself. Just as I helped them understand the "old" stuff, they
have helped me to break into CGI programming, Java, Websphere, etc. I'm
enjoying the 400 as much, if not more than I ever have and am using more and
more of the new stuff. RPGIV fits well into the new universe and those skills
will be valuable for years.

Perhaps it is your site that is unexciting <grin>
