I have done this many a times with Access.  I would not sent to Excel.  You 
have to make sure that you have the ODBC Drivers installed for Client Access.  
Then basically, you would link to an external Database in Access.  Access just 
ends up reading the file directly from the AS/400.  You can do some really nice 
reporting.

How about going into Excel,  Click on the DATA tab, Select "Get External
Data",
Select "Create New Query",  Pick your AS/400 as a data source,  key in the
query
request and it will map straight into the Excel Spread Sheet.

Download?  we don't need no stinking download.

Gee,  The AS/400(aka DB/400)  is just another data source.
