I have done a lot of subfiles. I think I understand what is happening,
but a note is not the same as your telling me this at a terminal and
showing it to me. I think that you need to clear the screen totally
before writing or exfmt ing the display file with all its records
formats. 

Or maybe the database file from "the previous screen" is not being
written correctly. Once the record of the file is written correctly, then
everything will be fine.You need to do some database work.
