Laserform printing software does make re-formatting output easier, and
should allow modifications without any application changes. Font changes and
data location/exclusion are handled with overlays. The issue is how easy it
is designing and mapping the overlay. ICS' Formsprint requires greenscreen,
but there are native AS/400 products out there like EZPrint/400 that will
let you design on both a green screen and a GUI.

Packages like these also let you distribute the printing to multiple laser
printers, eliminating both pre-printed forms as well as impact printers.
They will also interface with fax/email solutions like Quadrant FastFax or
Computer Keyes. They can also be used for barcode printing and MICR check
printing.

Hope this helps some.
