Hi there folks,

is it possible to do a reverse DNS lookup from any of the exit programs that receives a dotted decimal IP address?

We would like to store authorized FTP sites by domain name rather than by IP address, as that is what our users will be implementing in their FTP client programs. Obviously the AS/400 is able to lookup the IP address from the remote DNS (we do not use local DNS), and pass it to the exit program.
Is it possible to take the IP address and look the other way?
I presume this will take some sockets api calling (gulp!) from RPG IV, if so can anyone give me some examples?

Thanks in advance!,
