OH BOY! Now I get it...

Yes. First, you need to have binder source. This source serves to organize
the signatures for the service program. Do not organize the service program
sequences by function (that is a documentation issue, not a service program
issue). The order of the modules in the service program is of little
consequence in use, but a big consequence when everything is re-arranged.

When you change the service program, you should replicate the *CURRENT
export section as a *PRV section and add any new modules at the end of the
binder source for the *CURRENT export list.

This keeps the old programs that don't require the use of the new modules in
the service program from having to be re-compiled. The signatures just add
on and the old programs use the functions without change.

As for COMMON, the usual... see if Susan Gantner or Jon Paris or Paul
Remtema is doing a session on ILE architecture or Service Programs and go to
that. Then, at the end, if you still have questions, talk to one or more of
them at the end of the session, CUDS or some other time during the
conference. All of these people are very approachable.
