I've been with RPG since '73 (RPGI). Back then, we had no
subroutines, reads, excpt, etc. I've seen RPG develope over 30 years. The RPG
cycle still exists! That says something! It's great for using an open query
with since you probably just want to read through the whole query file anyhow. I
take exception to those who say the cycle should go to route of the dinasaurs!
Remember what the "G" stands for in RPG? It stands for "generator", dahhhh! In
other words it generates code! If you take that away or don't let anyone code
using the cycle, then lets change its name (for the sake of accuracy)!
