Jim, why not ask your employer to cover the $30/month cost for an account on
the net?  He should be happy to pay that for you, so you can learn stuff and
practice without endangering his machine and not on his time?  What the
heck, it is way cheaper than some of the magazine subscriptions.

Which brings up a point.  How come the AS/400 magazine people don't have an
AS/400 on the web, and include a "free" account for every fully paid
subscription?

Hmm... difficult to say.  We are on V3R7M0, but I don't know
how long that's going to last.  If IBM ever decides to sell home
units at a reasonable cost, everyone might be able to get on the
same platform.

I really don't see how I can contribute much, though, writing
things I can't compile.  Unless I can make modules in older RPG
that can then be linked in?
