The INTRA subsystem comes to my mind.
That was on the S/36, it is a connection to your own machine, we (ab-)used
it to do some sort of "call" out of a MRT program squeeeeezed to 64K....
Maybe this is possible on the AS/400... the INTRA subsystem or the
definition of it, not a MRT.. :-)
