Amen.  Solving this sort of problem is something no one needs to do more
than once.  It's not like coming up with an interesting bit of logic, it's a
matter of figuring out how to translate C data types into RPG data types
(not trivial by any means) and learning enough about C file I/O to apply the
results intelligently.
