I am starting to do this way.

1.) Get the data from Sql Server to AS400 table ( since AS400 table accepts
NULLS)
2.) Write a small RPGLE program where i would have SQL statements to
convert NULLS to Zeros & NULLS to 0001-01-01
3.) Then copy the table data to a physical file.

Please advice what do you guys think about the above process.

Yes, you can store 99999999 as a date CCYYMMDD not - or /.
