Thanks for the new book.

It would be so nice if the book had also talked about HTTP Servers, Web
Servers & how AS400 system interacts with WEB ( ASP stuff like that...)

Hope we could see something more like that too.

Just a thought.
Gade.

Subject: News on new version of RPG Redbook

As promised here's the latest update from Brian Smith of the ITSO on the
RPG
Redbook. As you'll see this time the source library and everything is
available
for download. Those of you who were waiting for the C function stuff grab
it
now while the spirit of Paris' purple prose still lives !!!

Go get it !!!

Well, believe it or not, we have taken a great Redpiece on RPG IV and made
it even better! No, really! The team has been busy updating most of the
technical examples based upon the fantastic review comments we received.
The are now more robust, complete, and for the most part follow all the
style guidelines! Jon has added an all brand-new introduction to the API
chapter (Chapter 5.0) that is brilliant - reads just like he teaches!

So, the technical side of the book is done. It is now in the hands of our
very capable editors to clean up the formatting and our English. ETA for
the final Redbook is mid-January.

If you cannot wait, please goto our website:

Internet: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/
intranet: http://w3.itso.ibm.com/

Search for zdravko (or, sg245402 works just as well... smile)

The title is 'Who Knew You Could Do That with RPG IV? A Sorcerer?s Guide to
System Access and More', SG24-5402-00. This draft of the Redpiece will
have the following date/time stamp on the cover: Draft Document for Review
December 14, 1999 9:23 am.

Also, to down load the RPGISCOOL library containing all the source
examples, click on the Additional Materials nav bar on the left and follow
the instruction. If you have any problems with this please let me know as
I want to fix the problems before we publish mid-January.
