Who hasn't seen this demonstrated YEARS ago? Wasn't there some
sample application that showed an AS/400 green screen program
calling some API's that displayed an image? Had to be on a PC.
IBM was pushing the CD juke box for this, weren't they? Wasn't
the demo some real estate application?

How could you possibly use image files in an RPG program? There is no support
for
graphical images
in the 5250 datastream, which is what is prbably being used to drive your
display. If you wanted to
print the image, you could code translation to use HostPrintTransform functions
to print the image.

A task of this magnitude would require an extremely experienced persion who was
very conversant in several different technologies.

If you could explain what you are trying to accomplish, possibly a solution
could
be presented.

I am currently supporting a C/S AS/400 centric application with over 1 million
images on-line, and 10 million near-line images. It uses OS/2, NT, and AS/400
platforms. Coding is in ILE COBOL, CL, RPG, heavy use of APIs on the 400. OS/2
is
C based, proprietary code to drive Cygnet Optical Jukeboxes, NT Desktops are
coded in C++ using TCp to retrieve and display images, NT Servers are used for
other functions.
