Seems like sensible advice to me!

Actually, in C, they may seem similar, but "A+=1" is not the
same as "A=A+1".

Consider the statements:

1)  arr[proc()] += 1;
2)  arr[proc()] = arr[proc()] + 1

proc is called once in the first, but twice in the second.
