hello all,

Does anybody have experience of null capable fields..

I am aware of the %NULLIND BIF,

The problem I have is, that I am writing a some conversion programs in
RPG IV to a progress database.
The progress database fields are all null capable (ALWNUL *USRCTL) on
the DDS.

When I load the fields with valid data I think the nullind remains on.
Therefore it must be turned off before a write?
On doing this, if I write null data to that field ie 0001-01-01 for a
date. I need to switch the ind back on so that the progress data base
displays blank.

It appears this has to be done for every field, is there an
easier/better way of doing this.

your help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance
