And, I never use more than two or three indicators in my rpg logic, just for 
subfile
manipulations to turn on and off attributes.
And YOU DO HAVE TO CHECK the dds for these, to make sure some smart--- hasn't 
screwed
up the associations.

If you do some intense subfile manipulations, you could very well need a good 
many
indicators, minus the two I use for eof and flags, minus the 9 I use for the 
subfile
control record.
And, I do know about the manipulation technique to set on display attributes 
without
indicators, I just don't like it.
And, I do reuse the same set of indicators on each display recrd.

I have never worked with anyone with objections of my using variables "F1" - 
"F24",
"pagedown", etc for for indicators.  I have seen a couple of folks object to 
the use
of *InKT, *InKM, etc.....
I don't have a preference myself, but it is nice to be able to identify the 
Enter
key, even if you can't tell the pressed enter from from an Check(ER).
