How to retrieve IP address

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. You gave me the solution. But you didn't tell
how to implement it. How to perform setHostId function?. If I want to
hard code my IP i.e 
164.164.18.7 in long integer format how to do it? Any help.

function was performed.  You might do better with GetHostByName which
uses the host table lookup function.  The function inet_addr() with
convert a dotted address to the 32 bit internet address, (long
integer).  If you want to hard code it use eval AddrA = x'A4A41205'
where AddrA is 4 byte alpha remapped to an

I am working on a socket program in ILE RPG. In the client program I am
trying to retrieve the hostID.  I am using Eval = GetHostId. But it's
returning only zeros. Any help. Instead if I want to hard code it. How
to specify my IP 164.164.18.5 in Hex format. Thanks in advance.
