Walter,

Your DDS is probably missing two keywords.  In the "Window" DDS, code a 
Dummy record format with, say, a one-character field (blank) on line 24 
column 79.  Specify the ASSUME keyword.  Like so,

    R      DUMMY                    ASSUME
                             23 79  ' '

Then, in your calling program's DDS, code the KEEP keyword on the record 
format that's on the display when you call your window program.

What you are basically doing is telling device management that when your 
program sends the window to the display ASSUME that data is on the 
screen and KEEP the existing data there.
