  • Subject: R: AS/400 upgrade
  • From: "Guido" <g.bellati@xxxxxx>

Just some little tips:

- Be sure that the media (e.g. the tapes) are readable
  A DSPTAP is enough.
Once, a AS/400 I was upgrading found an anreadable tape (the 3rd one)
during the upgrade process.
I was lucky enough to borrow another one by another company. After that, I
check every media before.
- Make a SAVSYS before the upgrade (you never know...). This requires an
ENDSYS before you start off.
- Apply permanently all V3R1 PTFS. This does not require a dedicated system.
- Follow the hint to issue a SNDPTFORD I read in the list before.
- Read carefully the upgrading instructions you must have.
- Keep in mind that a AS/400 is not a NT server - it is a much more reliable
machine.
