Good luck! 

If you use RPG IV as Booth suggests, then most of the date and time 
calculations can be easily handled there.  If you must use RPG 400, I would 
strongly suggest that you go to the News 400 website 
(http://www.news400.com) and search for "The Last Date Routines You'll Ever 
Need."  Get the back copies of the magazine (from the May 1990 timeframe). 

One of the Golden Rules of programming is to re-use code whenever possible. 
 Date routines are a perfect example of a place to go use code that's 
already been written, tested and debugged.
