You say "apart from paginated subfiles.." suggesting that you want to avoid
this solution at all costs. I would seriously recommend that you DO use a
page-at-a-time subfile. If a user needs to view 10,000+ records, it will
be a huge overhead on the system to load them all into a subfile and if the
file is continually updated by others, the information may be outdated by
the time the user reads it. With a subfile of say fifteen records, the
response will be almost instantaneous and you can allow the user to
position-to anywhere in the list without having to read all the records in
between. The change to the current code is really quite small and the
gains will be worthwhile. I can send you a working skeleton of the
required code if you wish.
To answer your question though, I would suggest applying all changes from
the current subfile, clearing it (SFLCLR), then re-building it from RRN 1.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alan Yates.

Subject: Subfiles:Displaying 10,000th record

Hi Friends,
I'm doing Subfiles now.
Apart from pagenated subfiles is there any other method to go past
9999records.i've heard that we have to re initialize the RRN value for
the 10,000 record, but in such a case won't we lose track of the first
9999 records.A brief program (of that particular portion)will be of
great help.
Thanks in advance.
