Repaka,

Two things:
1) Make sure you have used the correct record format name in your program,
the correct name can be found using the display file description command
(DSPFD) output. To see which fields are in the file use DSPFFD.
2) Make sure that the library containing the file exists in your library
list when you compile your program (ADDLIBLE).

Alternatively, although not recommended unless absolutely necessary; if you
know the positions within the records of the data that you need, you could
describe the file internally within your program.

Subject: Is DDS compulasary !

Hi guys,

I had been working on RPG/400 till last last month and recently started
programming in RPG IV. I find the language very interesting.

My question is, our application is developed some company called Early
Cloud and they just provided objects but not source.
I used one of the files created by them in my RPG iv, when I compile the
program it is giving me error 'record format for the file is not found'.

That file has many fields and source is not available. Is there anyway
to get my program compiled without any errors.

Your help is appreciated.

thanks
Repaka
