Rather than snipe at each other, perhaps there is a middle ground we can 
reach agreement on.

Our student member is cross posting to midrange-l and rpg400-l.  Perhaps 
if he confines his posts to the RPG forum it would be easier on the 
midrange-l folks who'd rather not view so many "basic" questions.

As for those of us who choose to respond, perhaps we can email the 
newcomer privately, rather than tie up the list.  I *generally* use the 
list if I think the posting will be of general value, otherwise I email 
privately.
