Does anyone else see this as a problem?

<<PF Source>>

      A R SAMPLE
      A ZONED 3S 0
      A ZONED2 3S 0
      A ALPHA 3A

<<RPG IV SOURCE>>

      Ftest ip e disk
      Dstruct ds
      Dzoned
      Dalpha
      Dzoned#2 like(zoned2)
      Dalpha#2 like(alpha)

zoned#2 is built by the compiler as a PACKED field. When I checked the
compile listing it even said zoned2's program format was packed while
zoned was zoned.

OS/400 = V3R2
Cum = most currently available.

IBM hasn't let the developers give us the ability to use like() AND
override anything but the length yet here it seems that the like()
doesn't even produce the same data type.
