Solidworks.com. Can't say enough good things about that community - wealth of info and good people there.

Subject: [PCTECH] Non-Midrange resources kind of like Midrange dot Com

I know this isn't a PC Tech issue, but I recently inherited management of
130 windows servers and various network appliances. I also know that there are a lot of resources on the internet that provide a "Midrange-like"
technical community.

So in trying to narrow it down, I'm hoping some of you who also manage a windows server farm and network appliances, can point me to a few of your favorite/useful websites where I can solicit information about tools used to manage windows servers, and network appliances the likes of those offered by Barracuda for internet content filtering, email spam filtering, email archiving, intrusion detection, firewalls and so forth.

We have VMWare and use a lot of Cisco products, and Barracuda appliances.
And today the Barracuda web content filter started acting flaky and their support recommended a 'rebuild' of the device (which is similar to a format/reinstall of windows) and my network engineer did that last year, and they are asking him to do it again. So I'm thinking it's time to start shopping, but I don't have any good internet resources other than google to start with - and trying to narrow where the smart people go to get reliable answers.

And as a side note - just today we had an SQL server slow to a crawl, and the application vendor's solution was to defrag. I had to point out to my server admins (and my boss) that defrag was something we in the midrange world stopped doing when we left the S/36 for the AS/400 almost 25 years ago (ZING!).
