Folks:

Windows Server is an area I have little experience in.

How difficult is it to setup full server replication between two machines?

In my office we used to have a local Windows Server. The performance was great.

A few weeks ago the tape drive on the server failed and the ITS group decided, rather than replace the tape drive, to move our server content to a machine in a the main data center via remote link.

The problem is, for large data transfers, the performance is not so great.

Before I submit a request ... I'm curious as to how hard it would be to setup some kind of full server replication between the a local machine (that wouldn't get backed up) and the remote machine (that would be backed up).

I'm hoping that we could have a scenario where we get the performance of a local server with the security of the remote server.

Thanks!

david
