Re: Android gmail app

In the Android app, tap the message's icon on the left to select it. When
you do, the top of the screen should change to give you options like
delete. You can, of course, select multiple messages to act on.

I don't think there is a quick 'Select all' equivalent, or if there is it
isn't obvious.
