My belief is that the app should be the primary consideration when selecting OS or hardware. Since Mocha is the same for both iOS and Android, then my guess is that the selection should be based on e-mail. Since you had a Blackberry and they were popular for e-mail then that's probably a consideration. Is it the same Notes client for either?

My personal preference is Android. Jeff is right with the Google calendar/contacts always being up to date. I live in a mixed iOS/Android household. My oldest son prefers iOS while my middle son prefers Android. My guess is that you will be happy with either. Either one will be different than what you are used to. Some Android phones offer the option of a physical keypad. If you are used to that from the Blackberry then that may be a consideration. AFAIK the iPhone is strictly touch screen.
